Without donations from people like you, we can’t carry on doing what we do with the people of Tanzania.
Your money goes a very long way in Tanzania, and you can rest assured that as a small and highly focused registered charity, the funds you give will be used well.
Here are some examples of just how useful your donation will be:
£1 buys 6 exercise books for children at the school in Bukumbi. Stationery is often beyond the reach of the residents, many of whom live on below $1 a day.
£7 buys a head torch for a Clinical Officer. Bridge2Aid trains almost 50 Clinical Officers each year in emergency dentistry. Since we started our Dental Volunteer Programme in 2004, over 1 million people have been given access to safe emergency dentistry.
£10 feeds 30 Bukumbi Care Centre children for a week. Traditional porridge ‘Uji’ is provided during the play group held at the Centre.
£45 pays for a monthly visit by Bridge2Aid and the District Dental Officer who carry out vital supervision and offer support to the trained Clinical Officers.
£50 supports the income generation scheme’s monthly costs. This scheme run at Bukumbi empowers residents to make and sell their crafts for a small profit. Loans to buy materials, equipment, the repair of sewing machines and training are included in this cost.
£100 pays for the Community Development worker’s monthly travel costs. Bukumbi Care Centre is in an isolated, rural area. For the centre to continue it is vital that CD workers are able to travel to Bukumbi.
£240 provides a dental kit for a trained Clinical Officer, allowing him or her to treat patients in hard-to-reach rural dispensaries/health centres.
£500 provides the monthly food supply at Bukumbi Care Centre.
£840 provides a student with two 2 years of vocational training.
£2,500 provides the full training of one Clinical Officer who, once graduated, will service a rural population of 10-15,000 people.
