This is a guest post from Abi Al-Adhami from Abi Dental, one of our fabulous Unity Partners. Here she talks about a recent fundraiser organised for Bridge2Aid, and the benefits of being a Unity Partner.
Abi Dental is very proud to be a part of great organization that is Bridge2Aid.
B2A is a charity that is very close to my heart for many reasons based on the fact that it is not about donating money, it’s about empowering people to get others out of pain. 75% of the world population have no access to the simplest pain relief leaving billions to face a daily battle with pain in the toughest of life circumstances.
We take so much for granted whereas in other parts of the world, the most basic of things don’t exist.
It was first brought to my attention by my Business Coach, and good friend Chris Barrow. The more I found out about it, and what their teams do, the more I felt I needed to be a part of it. And being a dentist, it’s also relevant to my profession.
A chance to give back to those less fortunate, even if it’s in a small way.
So when the opportunity arose earlier this year to become a Unity Partner, I grabbed it with both hands.
That was all based on a complete humanitarian level…whole heartedly
On a business level…
We all know that we live in a time where belonging to a charity makes business sense as well.
Why…?
Well, allow me to explain:
1. Patients like to see that their dental practice is linked to a charity. It has a good feel to it as they see your compassionate side
2. In helping to promote the charity, you are also promoting your brand
3. Free local newspaper advert for any fund raising event, along with free radio airtime
4. Makes you stand out from the crowd of competition
5. We are also on the Unity Partnership website. So it’s promoting the website and brand awareness
6. Team building exercise as everyone is involved in taking part and the excitement is contagious
On the 10th of September 2011, Abi Dental held a Fun Day to raise money for B2A.
We had a huge bouncy castle ( red, white ,and black obviously!) just outside the surgery, turning heads and stopping traffic!
In addition to face painting, massage chair, raffle, and goody bags in return for donations.
We got lucky with the weather, had lots of fun, attracted alot of attention, and raised money for B2A.
Win/ win….don’t you think…?
