Current Funding Needs

30 years ago, when the streets of Mwanza were 'cleansed' of all those living on the streets that were disabled or disfigured, Bukumbi Care Centre became their home. Bridge2Aid are working with the community at Bukumbi, to help them become less dependent on external help and more able to provide for themselves, regardless of their appearance, disability or disease. The current funding provided by the Tanzanian social welfare department is not enough to provide for their basic needs; Bridge2Aid are committed to spending 100,000 Tanzanian Shillings (£50) each month to supplement their food provisions, as well as providing health and dental care to the residents. The aim of this page is to raise the £50 needed each month, for the coming year; any extra funds raised will be used to further help the people of Bukumbi. |
