Payroll Giving
|
Giving through your pay is one of the easiest ways to help us restore smiles and change lives in Tanzania. It's also flexible, easy to set up and tax effective too. Employees sign up to have a regular monthly donation taken from their pay before tax is deducted. Therefore if a member of staff donates £10 a month it actually costs them only £7.80 at the basic rate (currently 22%). Under the scheme, you the employer send the donations to an agency charity that forwards the donations to us. Agency charities are registered with and audited by the Inland Revenue. If you dont already have a Payroll Giving scheme or agency, we can help you find one. The agency will give you lots of help in setting up the scheme. They make a small charge for theoir services of around 4-5%, and many companies choose to pay this themselves so that the whole donation passes to us. The benefits for you - reflects your goodwill and social responsibility - enhances your corporate image amongst your staff and the local community - increases your company's overall charitable giving The benefits for the employee - gives them an easy way to make regular cost effective donations - offers them the opprtunity to make tax-free donations of any amount - enables them to support up to five of their favourite charities The benefits for us - enables us to develop a long term relationship with our supporters - means we can plan ahead and commit with confidence to new communities and programmes in the knowledge that we have a regular, predictable commitment base. - reduces administration costs because (unlike other forms of tax-effecive giving) there is no need for us to reclaim the tax from the Inland Revenue.
